Musk's China Visit Concerning: US Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy

Republican leader and US presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy expressed concerns over Elon Musk's discussions with Chinese ministers on the Tesla CEO's first trip to the country in over three years. Mr Ramaswamy claimed that China was using prominent American business leaders as puppets to "advance their agenda".

Elon Musk, during an audience with China's Foreign Minister on Tuesday, announced that he will expand his business in the country. He also praised China's "vitality and promise" on Wednesday.

The billionaire used his sit down with Foreign Minister Qin Gang to voice opposition to the US decoupling from China, saying the interests of the two countries were intertwined, according to a government statement.

Calling Musk's remarks deeply concerning, Mr Ramaswamy said, "It's deeply concerning that Elon Musk met with China's foreign minister yesterday to oppose decoupling and referred to the U.S. & Communist China as "conjoined twins." Tesla's VP in China reposted that statement on Weibo in China, but curiously not here in the US."

The Republican leader also said that prominent US businessmen driving Beijing's agenda tilt the scales in China's favour.

"That tilts the global scales of perception in China's favor – and sadly, it's working. The US needs leaders who aren't in China's pocket, yet Biden is just another embodiment of that same problem," he said in a tweet.

Musk's first visit to China in three years comes as Tesla faces intensifying competition from Chinese-made electric vehicles and some uncertainty about expansion plans for the Shanghai plant.

Musk, who has previously suggested Taiwan could be run as a special administrative zone of China, has enjoyed significant official support for his Shanghai-based Gigafactory. Tesla contributed almost one-quarter of Shanghai's total automotive production value last year, and local authorities pledged earlier this month to boost ties with the company through autonomous driving and robot modules.

The Tesla chief's unannounced trip is the latest by a major US CEO to China since the country reversed its zero-COVID policy and reopened its borders. Apple's Tim Cook visited in March, while JP Morgan's Jamie Dimon and Starbucks' Laxman Narasimhan are also in China this week.

Watch: Mourinho Throws Runners-Up Medal Into Crowd After Roma's Defeat

Jose Mourinho threw his future as Roma manager into further doubt on Wednesday, saying he was "too tired" after the bitter pain of losing his first major European final to Sevilla. The Spanish team triumphed 4-1 on penalties after the game in Budapest finished 1-1, with Paulo Dybala's opener cancelled out by an own goal from Roma defender Gianluca Mancini. Such a defeat is a new experience for Mourinho, 60, who had won all five of his previous major European finals, including last year's inaugural UEFA Conference League final with the Italian side.

Mourinho's disappointment was visible from the fact that he threw away his runners-up medal into the crowd.

"I'm too tired to do the job as a trainer, as a spokesman of the club, to fight every time," he said in the immediate aftermath of the defeat.

Mourinho told reporters that questions over his future were "not important at the moment", adding he was looking forward to going on holiday at the end of the season.

Roma are sixth in Serie A with one match remaining.

The Portuguese said he was disappointed with the officiating during the final and felt a number of decisions went against his men.

"We felt pressure against a team that has more talent than us," he said. "We lost a game but not dignity.

"I've never gone home prouder than today, even when I won. We had also worked hard on penalties but we missed two -- but all together, not only the penalty takers.

"Congratulations to Sevilla, but also congratulations to my players. The boys must go home peacefully, with pride for having done what they have done. These are my boys from Budapest."

"UPA Left Shattered Economy": Union Minister On Morgan Stanley Report

Morgan Stanley's report on how India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed and gained a position in the world order in less than a decade is the "best and sharpest indictment" of the Congress-led UPA's "lost decade between 2004 and 2014", Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on Wednesday.

Speaking to PTI, he said the report reminds Indians how the Congress-led UPA had in 2014 left "a shattered economy". Nine years later, India has emerged as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world with record FDI, the minister said.

"This report that says how India is transformed in less than a decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in my opinion the best and sharpest indictment of the UPA's lost decade between 2004 and 2014," he said.

In the report, Morgan Stanley said significant scepticism about India, particularly with overseas investors, ignores the significant changes that have taken place in India, especially since 2014.

Rejecting criticism that India has not delivered its potential (despite it being the second-fastest-growing economy and among the top-performing stock markets over the past 25 years) and that equity valuations are too rich, saying such a view ignores the systematic reforms in the last nine years.

Chandrasekhar said, "The report goes into details and it reminds Indians that how in 2014 the Congress' UPA had left a shattered economy, almost 14 quarters of runaway inflation, 12 quarters of decline in economy and industrial production, investors running away from the country, a broken financial sector that was characterised by crony corrupt lending by banks, and international big investors like Telenor, Nokia running away from India." "That was the situation in 2014 that this report has rightfully captured," he told PTI.

The Union minister said India has come through the Covid pandemic, one of the "most disruptive times" in the history of the world, and emerged as a stronger nation that has earned "all the respect of the world".

"Whether it is the formalisation of the economy, tax rates that are comparative with the world, and infrastructure... We have become the largest infrastructure in the world today.

"We are the fastest growing innovation economy in the world. We are becoming a technology power in the world... Most importantly, from the eleventh largest economy in the world, we have become the fifth in a short span of nine years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he added.

Chandrasekhar said the report indicates that Prime Minister Modi has not only been working for the growth of the nation but he has expanded the economy and brought stability and security.

"He has created good governance despite the fact that in 2014 the UPA and the Congress government had left a total mess for Prime Minister Modi ji to inherit," he added.

Video Of MS Dhoni Strapping His Knee During IPL 2023 Goes Viral. Watch

For MS Dhoni, the IPL 2023 was a special one in many ways. From the start of the edition, one man who was showered with all the adulation at every venue was MS Dhoni. Wherever Chennai Super Kings played, be it at home in Chennai or in away matches, Dhoni had the crowd backing him. Ultimately, Dhoni's CSK lifted the IPL title by defeating Gujarat Titans in the final in Ahmedabad. After the final, Dhoni even mentioned that he will try and play one more IPL season, but added that it would also require huge physical effort from his side.

Dhoni will be seeking expert opinion from sports orthopedics in Mumbai on the state of his dodgy left knee before taking a call on his treatment, CEO Kasi Viswanathan said on Wednesday. Now, a video has gone viral on social media where it can be seen that Dhoni is strapping his knee.

Dhoni had played the entire IPL season with a heavily strapped left knee and although he looked absolutely okay while keeping, more often than not batted as late as No.8 and didn't look swift while running between the wickets.

"Yes, it is true that Dhoni will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury and accordingly decide. If surgery is advised, it can only be ascertained after reports come out, it will be completely his call," Viswanathan told PTI.

Is there a possibility that Dhoni will decide against playing next season and thus free up a purse of Rs 15 crore for the mini auction, the CEO replied: "Frankly, we are not even thinking on those lines as we haven't reached that stage.

"It will be completely Dhoni's call. But I can tell you in CSK, we haven't entertained those thoughts," Viswanathan said.

Watch: Hungry Bear Gets Trapped In Car In US, Freed By Epic Rope Trick

A frustrated bear that got itself trapped inside a parked car was freed by creative US sheriff deputies, who used a rope to open the door.

The black bear managed to climb into the vehicle parked in a Nevada neighborhood, presumably looking for food, and then found itself stuck when the door slammed shut.

Officers from Washoe County Sheriff's Department, alerted to the stranded creature, devised a plan to free it.

Footage filmed by the department shows one officer carefully tying a yellow rope around the back door handle before beating a hasty retreat.

Once safely tucked away behind a few decent-sized objects, the officer tugs on the rope, and the door swings open.

Seconds later the bear emerges, then scarpers across a few yards and into the woods, leaving behind the badly mangled interior of the black SUV, apparently torn apart in the search for a means of escape.

Black bears, which can grow up to 600 pounds (270 kilograms), are omnivores with a powerful sense of smell that sometimes leads them to forage for food amongst humans.

"Spring is an active time for our Tahoe bear population and a good reminder to be bear-aware when enjoying the beautiful outdoors," Washoe County Sheriff's Department tweeted on Sunday.

"Be mindful of food wrappers, coolers, and scented items in vehicles. Avoid leaving food in cars... Do not feed the bears!"

Pics: New Yorkers Chase The Sunset As 'Manhattanhenge' Lights Up City

A rare natural phenomenon brought the city that never stops to a standstill on Tuesday evening as thousands tried to capture the perfect 'Manhattanhenge' picture. The biannual spectacle takes place in New York wherein the Sun aligns precisely with the Manhattan street grid.

Manhattanhenge occurs twice in May and twice in July, and for these two days, as the Sun sets on the grid, half the disk sits above and half below the horizon, according to the American Museum of Natural History.

The "henge" phenomena is not restricted to New York and similar occurrences have been reported in other cities with large amounts of skyscrapers and long straight streets - such as Chicago, Montreal and Toronto.

There's also a sunrise version that occurs in the winter, the BBC reports, that happens about three weeks before and three weeks after the summer solstice.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson first used the term Manhattanhenge in 1997. He was inspired by Stonehenge, where the sun aligns with concentric circles of vertical stones on each of the solstices.

Artificial Intelligence Could Pose Risk Of Extinction, Experts Warn

Experts have warned about the potential dangers artificial intelligence poses to the very existence of civilization. On Tuesday, top AI scientists, researchers and others issued a new warning about the perils that artificial intelligence poses to humankind.

Hundreds of leading figures have signed the Statement on AI Risk which was posted on the Center for AI Safety's website.

"Mitigating the risk of extinction from A.I. should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war," reads a one-sentence statement. The open letter was signed by more than 350 executives, researchers and engineers working in A.I. including top executives from three of the leading AI companies: Sam Altman, chief executive of OpenAI, Demis Hassabis, chief executive of Google DeepMind; and Dario Amodei, chief executive of Anthropic.

The statement comes at a time when concerns about the potential harms of artificial intelligence are on the rise.

The Centre for AI Safety website suggests several disasters:

  • AI could be used as a weapon: Malicious actors could repurpose AI to be highly destructive, presenting an existential risk in and of itself and increasing the probability of political destabilization
  • AI-generated misinformation: A deluge of AI-generated misinformation and persuasive content could make society less equipped to handle the important challenges of our time.
  • Trained with faulty objectives, AI systems could find novel ways to pursue their goals at the expense of individual and societal values.
  • Enfeeblement can occur if important tasks are increasingly delegated to machines; in this situation, humanity loses the ability to self-govern and becomes completely dependent on machines, similar to the scenario portrayed in the film WALL-E.

Dan Hendrycks, the executive director of the Center for A.I. Safety, called the situation "reminiscent of atomic scientists issuing warnings about the very technologies they've created. As Robert Oppenheimer noted, 'We knew the world would not be the same,'" CNN reported.

"There are many 'important and urgent risks from AI,' not just the risk of extinction; for example, systemic bias, misinformation, malicious use, cyberattacks, and weaponization," Hendrycks continued. "These are all important risks that need to be addressed."

3 Women In China Team Up To Send 'Boyfriend' To Jail After He Conned Them

In an incident that seems straight out of a movie, three women in China teamed up to expose a man who posed as a love interest and cheated them of 100,000 yuan (Rs 11,67,982), South China Morning Post reported. As a result of the police investigation, the Shanghai man has received two years and six months in jail.

It all started when the three women went to a police station in Shanghai's Yangpu District on February 10 to report He Shiwei of deceiving them. The women claimed that Shiwei borrowed money from them, but never returned it.

One of the women, Chen Hong, said that she began to get suspicious of Shiwei and checked his phone after he fell asleep drunk. She found multiple messages from another woman asking him why he was rejecting her calls. Chen then contacted a woman named Xiao Fan and found out that she lived with Shiwei, who usually came to her flat to sleep every night.

Chen and Xiao found that Shiwei had told both of them he wanted to marry them.

That was not it. On February 10, Chen got a call from a third woman, named Zhao Lin, saying she was also Shiwei's girlfriend. When he got up, Chen confronted him and demanded he return the money he took from her. Upon his refusal, all three women reached the police station to file a complaint.

It was evident that they had been sharing the same boyfriend. He had been dating Chen since October 2022, Xiao since June 2022  and Zhao since 2021.

The police found that Shiwei had quit his job in 2020 and was unemployed since then. He had been using the money from the women to pay his debts.

Meanwhile, the three women who became good friends during the course of the investigation, went on an overseas trip together after the man was imprisoned. When a police officer called them with an update on the case in March, he got to know that the women were on holiday abroad together.

''We got along well during the trip. We were discussing a question every day such as – what virtue or ability did he have to enthrall all of us? This scenario was so fun. All three of us are pure and good-hearted. It shows that He is good at judging people, so he managed to cheat money from us,'' Chen told SCMP.

After Door Open Incident, Asiana Airlines Implements This Rule

South Korea's Asiana Airlines has stopped selling tickets for some emergency exit row seats following a recent incident in which a man allegedly opened an emergency exit door midair, causing panic.

In a statement, the airlines said that the seats are number 26A on 174-seat A321s and number 31A on 195-seat models. These seats are near the centre of the plane, closest to the doors on the left-hand side of the single-aisle aircraft.

"This measure is a safety precaution and applies even if the flight is full," the statement said. The seat on the right-hand side is where flight attendants sit for takeoff and landing, CNN reported.

On Friday, A passenger opened an emergency exit on an Asiana Airlines flight as it was preparing to land Friday, the carrier told AFP, adding that the plane landed safely but several people were hospitalised.

The Airbus A321-200 carried nearly 200 passengers as it approached the runway at Daegu International Airport, about 240 kilometres (149 miles) southeast of Seoul, on a domestic flight.

When the plane was about 200 meters (650 feet) above the ground, a passenger sitting near the emergency exit "opened the door manually by touching the lever", the South Korean carrier's representative told AFP.

The unexpected opening of the door caused some passengers to have breathing difficulties, and some people were taken to a hospital after the landing, Asiana said, adding that there were no major injuries or damage.

What Government Said About 6 Cheetah Deaths In 2 Months

The central government has denied any lapses behind the deaths of six cheetahs - including three cubs - within two months at the Kuno National Park (KNP) in Madhya Pradesh. "There is no lapse behind any of the cheetah deaths. Even in the case of the deaths of the three cheetah cubs, global wildlife literature clearly mentions 90% per cent infant mortality among cheetahs," said an official.

"We haven't done any trials with any of the cheetahs trans-located to KNP from the two African nations. Cheetahs live in a coalition, so even the mating of a female cheetah with a male coalition wasn't done as any trial. It was done based on documented evidence and following clearance from African experts," said CP Goyal, director general of forests.

A female cheetah had died during an aggressive interaction with two male cheetahs.

Union Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav has said that officers and employees involved in cheetah conservation and management will be selected and sent for the study tour to Namibia in South Africa under the Cheetah Project. All possible cooperation including financial resources will be provided by the Central Government for the protection, conservation, promotion, and proposed Cheetah Protection Force.

Mr Yadav had a discussion regarding the Cheetah Project with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state Forest Minister Dr Vijay Shah, and senior officials of the state government in a high-level meeting in Bhopal. He also chaired the 23rd meeting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) at the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) in Bhopal.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is a tiger state and it is a matter of prestige. The state government is committed to the success of Project Cheetah, he added.

"Information about the survival rate of birth of cheetah cubs was given at the beginning itself. The entire staff associated with the Cheetah project is working dedicatedly. The progress of the project is satisfactory," Mr Chouhan said.

The Chief Minister also instructed the state forest department that necessary arrangements should be completed on a war footing in the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary for alternative habitats for cheetahs.

Since March 27, three adult cheetahs and three cubs (out of the four cubs born in March) have died at the KNP, causing concern about the success of the ambitious project.

"Customer Tipped Me Rs 20": OYO CEO Remembers Doubling Up As Cleaning Staff

OYO CEO Ritesh Agarwal in a recent interview spoke about his experience during the early days of his career. He talked about the time when he used to not only be the boss of his own hospitality company but also doubled up as the front desk manager and as the cleaning staff when needed.

At the age of 19, Mr Agarwal dropped out of college, a move which became a turning point in his life. The decision of dropping out of college made him eligible for the prestigious Thiel Fellowship, an initiative established by billionaire Peter Thiel. Notably, Mr Agarwal became the first Asian recipient of the fellowship, which awarded him a grant of $100,000, which enabled him to return to India and start his hospitality business, OYO.

In an interview with BizTalk, Mr Agarwal recounted a memorable incident where he found himself cleaning a hotel room, only to be confronted by an angry customer. "Unhone badi daant lagayi ki 10 minute ho gaya" (He scolded us because we were late), the CEO of OYO recalled. The customer assumed that Mr Agarwal was part of the cleaning crew and reprimanded him for the delay, because Mr Agarwal and his team were occupied cleaning another room at the time.

Mr Agarwal took it upon himself and cleaned the room thoroughly. Much to his surprise, the customer was impressed and gave him a tip of Rs 20 as a token of appreciation.

Mr Agarwal took to his Twitter account to highlight an important issue: the role of housekeepers, desk managers, and other staff in the hospitality industry.

He wrote, "The real stars of the hospitality industry are the front office managers, cleaning crew, receptionists and behind-the-scenes staff who ensure guests have the best possible experience during their stay. Early on I got to experience this first-hand when a customer tipped me Rs 20."

In an interview with Humans of Bombay in 2020, Mr Agarwal elaborated on the early days of his career. He said, "During those initial days, I even worked as part of the hotel staff-servicing rooms, babysitting, and even playing UNO with customers-sometimes, being tipped for it all as well!"

After rain prevented a single ball from being bowled on Sunday, fans have their sights set on the weather forecast on Monday at Motera, Gujarat.

There simply isn't the worst sight than seeing cricketing action being suspended due to rain. Thankfully, there was a Reserve Day in place for the IPL 2023 final.

As far as the forecast goes, a full 40-over contest seems quite likely at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday. Accuweather suggests that the skies would mostly remain clear throughout the day, with their being only a 3% chance of rain at night.

Even if the hourly weather forecast is looked at, the chances of rain are negligible. Though there's a small possibility of rain during the day, during the match timings, the skies are mostly clear.

The fans who had turned up for the match on Sunday can attend the match on Monday too with the same tickets, IPL had confirmed.

"The #Final of the #TATAIPL 2023 has been moved to the reserve day on 29th May - 7:30 PM IST at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Physical tickets for today will be valid tomorrow. We request you to keep the tickets safe & intact," IPL tweeted.

This is the first time in IPL history that a summit clash has moved to a reserve day. The postponement of the match was a shocker for many excited fans who were in the stadium as well as those who were waiting for the summit clash in their homes. Around 11 PM IPL made the official announcement and ended many speculations.

Video: Venice Canal Patch Turns Fluorescent Green, Authorities Investigate

People in Venice woke up to an unusual sight on a Sunday morning after a patch of fluorescent green water appeared in the famed Grand Canal.

Veneto regional president Luca Zaia wrote on Twitter, "This morning a patch of phosphorescent green liquid appeared in the Grand Canal of Venice, reported by some residents near the Rialto Bridge. The prefect has called an urgent meeting with the police to investigate the origin of the liquid."

According to a BBC report, local authorities have collected water samples and opened an urgent investigation. Many are speculating what may have caused the water around the famous Rialto Bridge to change colour. Various theories surfaced online, including the release of dye to a protest by environmental activists could be a reason.

The Italian media reported that local police were examining CCTV to determine whether the release might have been a stunt to coincide with the Volgalonga regatta taking place this weekend.

According to CNN, the verdant blob was first noticed at around 9.30 am CET and grew slowly. City councilman Andrea Pegoraro immediately blamed environmental activists who have been attacking Italian cultural heritage sites in recent months.

The group Ultima Generazione, which poured charcoal into the Trevi Fountain in Rome last weekend, told CNN when asked if they were behind the green water, "It wasn't us."

However, this is not the first time Venice's Grand Canal has experienced a colour alteration. In 1968 Argentine artist Nicolas Garcia Uriburu dyed the waters of the canal green with a fluorescent dye called Fluorescein, during the annual Venice Biennale. The move was designed to bring attention to ecological issues and the relationship between nature and civilization.

'Dhoni And Reserve Day' Bring Back Harrowing Memories Of 2019 WC Semis

The final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 headed into the Reserve Day after play could not be possible on Sunday due to persistent rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Fans turned up in numbers hoping to see MS Dhoni lift the IPL trophy for the 5th time in his career with the Chennai Super Kings but had to return home disappointed. Though Dhoni's men are scheduled to take on Gujarat Titans on Monday, the prospect of Dhoni playing on a 'Reserve Day' brought back some horrible memories.

It was the semi-final of the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup between India and New Zealand when the match had to be shifted to the 'Reserve Day' because of rain on the scheduled day. New Zealand pacers, particularly Matt Henry, ran riot in overcast conditions to put India on the backfoot early on.

The match also saw Dhoni, the last hope of the Indian team, being run-out by Martin Guptill, helping the Kiwis secure an 18-run win. The match turned out to be Dhoni's last in the Indian jersey, with the former skipper deciding to retire from international cricket a few months later.

Seeing the IPL 2023 final heading into a Reserve Day too, fans fear if this would be the last time they would see Dhoni bat in the IPL too.

After the Qualifier 1, Harsha Bhogle had asked Dhoni about his future plans. The former India captain didn't give a clear answer and said he has about 8-9 months to decide whether he will play next year or not.

"I don't know. I have 8-9 months to decide. The small auction will be around December. So why to take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide. But, I will always be there for CSK whether it's in the playing form or sitting somewhere outside. I don't really know," Dhoni had said.

As for the CSK vs GT final on Reserve Day, the name of the winner can be decided even via a Super Over if rain disrupts proceedings again. If play is not possible at all, Gujarat Titans will be declared winners as they finished higher in the league stage of the campaign.

Mumbai's Bandra-Versova Sea Link To Be Named After Savarkar: Eknath Shinde

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday said the upcoming Bandra-Versova sea link in the western part of Mumbai will be named after Hindutva ideologue late VD Savarkar, while a state-level gallantry award on the lines of the one given by the Centre will also be named after him.

Speaking in New Delhi on the birth anniversary of Savarkar, the Chief Minister said some people were deliberately maligning the former for their selfish gains and out of fright that they will have to shut shop if his thoughts become popular in society.

It was the first time Savarkar's birth anniversary was being celebrated in the state government-constructed Maharashtra Sadan there, he added.

"The critics of Savarkar know if his thoughts become popular in society, they will have to shut shop. Imagine how terrified they are that they oppose Savarkar even after 57 years of his death," he said.

"There have been deliberate and consistent attempts to malign the image of Savarkar by some for their selfish gains. It is unfortunate even after 57 years of his death, some people fail to understand him. It angers me to see some people deliberately try to malign his image," Mr Shinde said.

Savarkar, who was born in Nashik district on May 28, 1883, died on February 26, 1966.

"The upcoming Bandra-Versova sea link will be named after Swatantryaveer Savarkar. On the lines of the Union government's gallantry awards, the Maharashtra government will also set up Swatantryaveer Savarkar gallantry awards," Mr Shinde said.

'Bowling Coach Jimmy Anderson' In Indian Camp? Fan Sets Twitter On Fire

Team India have begun its preparations for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, starting June 7 at the Oval in London. Some members of the Indian team have already reached the venue, ahead of the summitt clash, after their respective teams failed to qualify for the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs. The likes of Axar Patel, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur, among others arrived in London earlier this week and were accompanied by Team India's support staff, including head coach Rahul Dravid.

Earlier this week, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced a multi-year deal with German sportswear giant Adidas as Team India's kit sponsor.

Taking to Twitter, BCCI also unveiled India's new training kits, which were donned by some players and the support staff.

In one of the pictures, a fan spotted England pacer Jimmy Anderson's look-alike. Anderson's look-alike was none other than India's strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai.

"Great decision from BCCI to appoint Jimmy Anderson as the bowling coach," the fan tweeted.

Here's how Twitter reacted to the post:

The Indian team will assemble in London after the IPL 2023 final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The upcoming World Test Championship final is expected to see the Indian team wear the new Adidas Kits. India will be hosting the ICC ODI World Cup this year from October-November. The team is scheduled to play a number of ODIs before where the new blue-coloured kits will be seen.

"Why Are You...?": Chahar Recalls Incident When Dhoni Scolded Pacer

IPL 2019 was a breakthrough year for Chennai Super Kings' star pacer Deepak Chahar. He was bought by CSK in IPL 2018 and the next season saw him picking up a total of 22 wickets across 17 matches at an economy of 7.47. While Chahar ended the season well in terms of his individual performance, an incident during the edition also saw him getting almost scared by MS Dhoni. It was CSK's match against Punjab Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. With PBKS needing 39 runs in 12 balls, Dhoni handed the ball to Chahar, who bowled two back-to-back beamers at the start of the over and got to face the wrath of the CSK captain.

During a recent interview, Chahar recalled the moment where Dhoni scolded him and later acknowledged his comeback in the over.

"Sarfaraz (Khan) was batting and I was bowling in the death for the first time. There was (Dwayne) Bravo and Shardul (Thakur) as they can't bowl with the new ball. He (Dhoni) didn't used to bowl me in the death over because of Shardul and Bravo. But Bravo got injured. He saw me bowling in the nets and was satisfied," said Chahar to Gaurav Kapur during an episode of Breakfast with Champions.

"The match was tight as they needed 40-42 (39) in the last three overs. I bowled a slower one but twisted my ankle. I tried it again but once again it was a high full toss. I was thinking that 'I have bowled two waist high no balls and my chance won't come. My death over bowling career is finished'. He came to me and said 'You act smart. You know everything. Why are you bowling in this manner?' And I was looking down and thinking 'it is the end of my career'. But I gave away 5 runs in the remaining five balls and he gave me a hug after the match," added the CSK pacer.

Despite bowling two beamers in the over, the umpires let Chahar bowl as both were slower deliveries. CSK went on to win the game by 22 runs.

Henry Kissinger, US' Controversial Ex Secretary Of State, Turns 100

Henry Kissinger, whose very name is synonymous with US diplomacy, turns 100 Saturday feted by the American elite as others seethe that the ruthless Cold Warrior has never faced accountability.

From opening the door to communist China to plotting an endgame to the Vietnam War to unapologetically backing dictators who were anti-Soviet, Kissinger wielded influence like few before or after him, serving as both top diplomat and security advisor to presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

Instantly recognizable for his bookishly thick glasses and a sharp-witted monotone that never lost a touch of his native German, Kissinger was first an academic and his intellectual gifts are acknowledged begrudgingly even by some of his harshest critics.

Since leaving office in 1977, Kissinger's brand of realpolitik -- the coldly cynical championing of power and national interests -- has largely fallen out of favor as his successors preached moralism, but Kissinger himself has if anything enjoyed greater repute.

Ahead of his centennial, Kissinger blew candles on a cake at a celebratory luncheon at the Economic Club of New York, the city where he grew up after his Jewish family fled Nazi Germany.

Showing his worldview has not changed at the century mark, Kissinger cautioned for the United States to stay within the bounds of "vital interests," telling the guests, "We need to be always strong enough to resist any pressures."

Bucking the view of most US policymakers, Kissinger called for diplomacy with Russia on a ceasefire in Ukraine, arguing that Moscow has already suffered a strategic defeat.

'He has gotten away with it'

An unlikely playboy in 1970s Washington, Kissinger lives in an apartment on New York's Park Avenue. He has grown wealthy consulting businesses through his relationships in China -- and has warned the United States against treating Beijing as a new Cold War-style adversary.

Long despised by the left, Kissinger has come into the good graces of the mainstream of the Democratic Party.

Hillary Clinton after serving as secretary of state called Kissinger "a friend" and said she "relied on his counsel," while the incumbent, Antony Blinken, teased Kissinger about his stylishness when the elder statesman attended a State Department luncheon last year.

But for many, Kissinger was seen as an unindicted war criminal for his role in, among other events, expanding the Vietnam War to Cambodia and Laos, supporting military coups in Chile and Argentina, green-lighting Indonesia's bloody invasion of East Timor in 1975 and turning a blind eye to Pakistan's mass atrocities during Bangladesh's 1971 war of independence.

"To me, there's no doubt that his policies have caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and have destroyed democracy in many countries," said Reed Kalman Brody, a veteran human rights lawyer whose cases have included working with victims of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.

"I'm bewildered that he has gotten away with it," he said.

Kissinger has never faced serious legal jeopardy, with a US judge in 2004 throwing out a lawsuit related to the assassination of Chile's army chief and the United States boycotting the International Criminal Court.

But Brody said there would be a strong legal case on East Timor where Kissinger not only approved the invasion but ensured US weapons kept flowing to Indonesia's military.

Brody also pointed to a recording, released over Kissinger's objections, in which Kissinger tells Nixon that the air force had orders in Cambodia to hit "anything that moves." Indiscriminate bombing of civilians is a war crime.

Late writer Christopher Hitchens published a book calling for Kissinger to be tried on grounds including tacitly backing Turkey's 1974 invasion of Cyprus.

Belief In Larger Goals

For Kissinger, most important was always the larger goal. On Cyprus, he prioritized solid relations with Turkey. On Bangladesh, Kissinger wanted to preserve Pakistan as a secret channel between the United States and China.

Muntassir Mamoon, a prominent history professor at the University of Dhaka, said that Kissinger "actively supported genocide in Bangladesh."

"I don't find any reason to praise Kissinger," he said, adding that the view was shared in many other countries including Vietnam.

Kissinger was controversially co-awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating a ceasefire in Vietnam alongside Hanoi's Le Duc Tho, who refused to accept the award.

"The irony is that he gets remembered for making peace, but all the ways he contributed to an escalation of the war not only in Vietnam but in Cambodia and Laos get lost," said Carolyn Eisenberg, a historian at Hofstra University who wrote a book on Kissinger.

Eisenberg also played down Kissinger's public image as "some Machiavelian genius," saying that transcripts showed how China's premier Zhou Enlai played him through flattery.

"Zhou Enlai knows that this guy has a huge ego problem," she said.

Brody, despite his criticism of Kissinger, acknowledged that he had a "degree of gravitas and sophistication" that both overshadowed most US policymakers and endeared many to him.

"Perhaps the reward of being on the side of the powerful is that you're only resented and hated by the weak."
