Old Video: Zookeeper Puts Head Inside Crocodile's Mouth, This Happens Next

A horrific old video has resurfaced online showing the moment a crocodile bit a zookeeper's head before viciously thrashing him side to side. The short clip was shared a few days back by an Instagram page called 'earth.reel'. According to the Express, the incident took place in 2017 at a free crocodile show on the island of Ko Samui, in Thailand.

In the video, a zookeeper is seen kneeling before a crocodile and placing his entire head inside its motionless mouth. The man holds his position for ten seconds before the reptile suddenly snaps down on his head and violently thrashes him around. 

"WARNING! Not for Weak Heart People," the Instagram user wrote in the caption of the post.

Towards the end of the clip, as the crocodile continues to thrash the man around, shrieks are heard in the background. But fortunately, seconds later he is left on the ground reeling from his injuries while the crocodile slides back into the water. 

According to the Express, the horrifying incident took place around six years back at one of Thailand's famed crocodile shows for a small group of people on the tourist island of Ko Samui. At the time, it was reported that the zookeeper's condition remained unknown. The man was also said to have been "showing off" previous crocodile-related wounds, including a missing finger, to the crowd of six shortly before the performance.

Meanwhile, on Instagram, the old video has accumulated more than 1,800 likes and over 44,000 views. In the comment section, one user wrote, "If you mess with a wild animals, you have to expect this will probably happen, and it is on you". Another said, "When you play with fire you get burned, when you play Russian roulette you get shot, when you play with alligators or crocodiles you get your a** ate up lol the lesson here has been learned by the idiot and taught by the wild a** professor."

"Some people have to learn the hard way," added third. "Human stupidity is unbelievable!! I can't believe what this guy does!! What the animal does is instinct, what the other animal does is stupidity," expressed fourth.

Nitish Kumar vs Amit Shah In Bihar As Parties Kickstart 2024 Polls Campaign

Bihar will witness a major show of strength between the ruling Mahagathbandhan and opposition NDA today as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP's veritable principal strategist, criss-cross the state as they campaign for their respective political fronts for the state elections later this year.

Mr Kumar will hold a joint rally of the 'Mahagathbandhan' at Purnea in the eastern part of the state. The septuagenarian Chief Minister will be joined by his deputy Tejashwi Yadav and leaders of smaller allies like the Congress and the Left in a display of the "united opposition" which Mr Kumar, in particular, believes can defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Tejashwi Yadav's father and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Yadav, who recently returned to India after undergoing a kidney transplant surgery in Singapore, is also expected to make an appearance via video.

More than 400 km away, Amit Shah will address a public meeting in Balmiki Nagar Lok Sabha constituency, a party stronghold that was given away to the chief minister's JD(U) in 2019 as part of seat-sharing arrangements. After addressing a party meeting there, Mr Shah will fly to Patna to address another meeting of farmers.

RJD President Lalu Yadav, who recently returned to India after undergoing a kidney transplant surgery in Singapore, is also expected to make an appearance via video.

The home minister, who is visiting Bihar after a gap of more than four months, is also scheduled to pay his respects at Takht Harmandir Patna Sahib, the world-renowned Sikh shrine situated at the place where Guru Gobind Singh was born and had spent his early years.

"The BJP stands on the two pillars of organisational strength and ideological commitment and the Union Home Minister's Bihar visit is a reaffirmation of the same. The Mahagathbandhan, on the other hand, has chosen the communally sensitive Seemanchal area to play its card of Muslim appeasement," state BJP spokesman and OBC Morcha national general secretary Nikhil Anand said, according to PTI.

The  RJD, which is the largest constituent of the "Mahagathbandhan", has alleged that Amit Shah's visit will "accomplish little".

"The Purnea rally will sound the bugle for the battle to drive the BJP out of power. Amit Shah's visit will accomplish little. The Home Minister is likely to attempt communal polarization which is the only hope left for the BJP in 2024 elections", RJD spokesman Mrityunjay Tiwari was quoted as saying by PTI.

India Star Said "Mujhe Virat Ki Tarah Banna Hai". Bharat Arun's Response

There's no denying Virat Kohli's stature. The superstar batter has done wonders for the Indian cricket team over the years, establishing his stature as one of the finest in the world. It isn't just India where Virat enjoys a terriric fan-following but also outside the globe. Not just that, even some of Kohli's teammates are his fans, and an epic story of one such fan was narrated by India's former bowling coach Bharat Arun. And, that player was none other than pacer Mohammed Siraj.

Siraj entered the Indian team having already played under the captaincy of Kohli at Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was there that the pacer had a chat with Arun, revealing how much he admired the then-franchise skipper Kohli.

"Siraj was Virat's biggest fan. After the first season with RCB, he came and told me 'Sir, mujhe Virat ki tarah banna hai (Sir, I want to be like Virat)," Arun revealed on Cricbuzz Special show 'The Rise of New India'.

"I think it was the hunger in him; he had seen what Virat has achieved. So I told him 'Agar Virat ki tarah banna hai, toh phir uski tarah bohut kuch sacrific karna padega (If you want to be like Virat, then like him, you'll have to sacrifice a lot of things)," he added.

It is quite common for budding batters to look up to Virat Kohli and say that they want to be like him. But for a bowler to say so, it was unique. But, that also highlights the impact Virat can have on a player, not just with his batting but his mindset.

But, when Siraj told Arun he wanted to be like Kohli, the former India bowling coach knew the iconic batter had a big influence on the pacer.

"In bowling, you can be somebody who can be remembered. He said 'No sir, I will do whatever it takes because I want to emulate him'. So the fact that he was such a Virat fan-boy and later on, getting to play under him and alongside him had a great influence on Mohammed Siraj," he further said.

Chinese Loans To Pak "Deeply Concerning", In Serious Talks With India: US

The US is deeply concerned that the loans being given by China to India's immediate neighbourhood - Pakistan and Sri Lanka - may be used for coercive leverage, a senior State Department official has said.

"Concerning Chinese loans to countries in India's immediate neighbourhood (Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal), we are deeply concerned that loans may be used for coercive leverage," Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, told reporters ahead of the India trip of Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

The top American diplomat is travelling to New Delhi on a three-day official visit from March 1 to 3.

Mr Lu said that the US is talking countries in the region comprising India to take their own decisions and not feel compelled by any outside partner.

"We are talking to India, talking to countries of the region about how we help countries to make their own decisions and not decisions that might be compelled by any outside partner, including China," Mr Lu said.

Earlier in the day, Pakistani Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced that the Board of China Development Bank (CDB) has approved a USD 700 million credit facility to the country.

Responding to a question Mr Lu said that there has been a serious conversation between India and the US on the issue of China.

"We have had serious conversations about China, both before the latest scandal over this surveillance balloon but in the aftermath. So, I fully expect those conversations will continue," he said.

Mr Lu, in response to a question, insisted that Quad is not a military alliance.

"The Quad is not, in fact, an organisation that is against any single country or group of countries. The Quad stands for trying to promote activities and values that support the Indo-Pacific - free and open Indo-Pacific, but Indo-Pacific that's prosperous and supports the values that we as these four countries represent," he said.

When asked about India's military relationship with Russia, he said globally Russia is having a really difficult time fulfilling orders for military contracts.

"We see plenty of evidence of that around the world. And if you look at press reporting, I think you can see the Indians are also wondering whether Russia will be able to provide for its defenses," Mr Lu said.

Mr Lu strongly refuted the allegations that India avoids the use of war when it comes to Russia.

"India uses the word "war" all the time," he asserted.

"You heard Prime Minister Modi say, in August, now is not the era for war. You heard External Affairs Minister Jaishankar say in September, at the UN, that we need this war to end through diplomatic means and along the principles of the UN Charter, reinforcing territorial integrity and sovereignty," he said.

"And then, in November you heard the Indian Defense Minister say the threat to use nuclear weapons by Russia is totally unacceptable and at odds with the basic tenets of humanity. So, I don't particularly see a reluctance to use the word 'war.' I think they use it all the time," Mr Lu said.

US Will Continue To Develop And Foster Ties With Indian Military: Pentagon

The United States is looking forward to continue to develop and foster its relationship with the Indian military, the Pentagon has said.

"The US and India enjoy a good partnership. We look forward to continuing to develop and foster our relationship with the Indian military," Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig Gen Pat Ryder told reporters at a news conference in Washington on Friday.

In 1997, defence trade between India and the US was almost negligible, today it stands above USD 20 billion.

Last month during a press conference, Brig Gen Ryder said that India is a "great example" of countries who are choosing security assistance from the US, underlining that it was ready for any response to wean them away from Russia.

India has faced flak from US lawmakers, both Republicans and Democrats, for choosing to abstain from a UN vote to rebuke Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

US officials have expressed concern over India's purchase of the S-400 missile systems by Russia.

In October 2018, India signed a USD 5 billion deal with Russia to buy five units of the S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems to ramp up its air defence, despite a warning from the then-Trump administration that going ahead with the contract may invite US sanctions.

Delhi-Bound IndiGo Flight Diverted To Bhopal Due To Medical Emergency

A Delhi-bound IndiGDeo flight, originated from Cochin, diverted to Bhopal due to a medical emergency on board, the airlines said in a statement on Friday.

"IndiGo flight 6E 2407 operating from Cochin to Delhi has been diverted to Bhopal due to a medical emergency on board. We regret the inconvenience caused to other passengers," the statement read.

After landing at Bhopal, the airport's team, without wasting a second, quickly offboarded the passenger and shifted him safely to the nearest hospital, Bhopal Airport said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, Dammam-bound Air India Express flight from Calicut was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram after its tail brushed the ground during take off.

A full emergency was declared at the Thiruvananthapuram airport and the flight landed safely, officials said.

According to officials, Air India Express flight IX 385 on Kozhikode-Dammam route diverted to Thiruvananthapuram due to suspected tail strike while taking off from Kozhikode airport.

"There were 168 passengers on board, and the aircraft made normal safe landing at Thiruvananthapuram at 12.15PM and passengers deplaned," the airline said in a statement.

"We are making arrangements to send the passengers to Dammam by an alternate flight which is scheduled to take off from Thiruvananthapuram at 3.30 PM today," the statement said adding that the airline staff are attending to all the requirements of the passengers at Thiruvananthapuram.

Earlier on February 4, a Calicut-bound Air India Express flight from Abu Dhabi landed back at Abu Dhabi airport after flames were detected in one of the engines soon after take-off.

Similarly, on January 23, an Air India Express flight from Trivandrum to Muscat landed back 45 minutes after taking off due to a technical glitch. According to officials, the flight management system (FMS) developed a technical glitch.

In December 2022, a snake was found on a Dubai-bound Air India Express flight.

Air India Express Boeing B-737 flight from Calicut to Dubai took off as scheduled and after landing at Dubai airport, the staff reported a snake on board the aircraft.

Jammu And Kashmir Teacher Suspended Over Post "Critical" Of Government

A teacher of a government school in Jammu and Kashmir has been suspended for a social media post "critical" of the government.

Joginder Singh, a schoolteacher in Ramban district, allegedly posted some comments on his Facebook page criticising the Union Territory administration's policies.

The action was taken a week after the administration warned government employees to avoid criticising the government on social media.

According to an order issued by the administration, Mr Singh was suspended for violating government directions "regarding criticism of policies" on social media platforms.

Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta had warned employees last week against criticising its policies on social media.

Mr Mehta had asked all administrative secretaries to monitor social media activities of their employees and identify those criticising or commenting adversely on policies and achievements of the government.

The administration, however, has not made a specific mention of its policies that were criticised by the suspended teacher.

According to the order, it was found after a "proper scrutiny" that the teacher has been running four Facebook pages. On two pages, he has given his designation as a "teacher". On the other two, he called himself a "socio-political activist".

"It has been found that the said teacher has posted various posts criticizing and commenting adversely about the government policies on his Facebook page. He has concealed his identity (in two Facebook accounts) and made fake Facebook ID with a profession as socio-political activist and not a government Teacher," said the order by the Ramban Deputy Commissioner Musarrat ul Islam.

Mr Islam said the teacher will remain attached to the office of the Ramban Chief Education Officer till the investigation is complete. The administration has asked the additional district development commissioner to look into the matter.

The order also said the government withheld Mr Singh's salary in 2020 for allegedly misusing social media.

Since 2019, the Union Territory's administration has launched a crackdown on "misuse" of social. Many have been charged under the anti-terror law UAPA over their social media posts.

In 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir administration told employees to give details of their social media accounts for police verification.
